Bioidentical Hormones — Are They A Good Fit For You?

While women have been treated with Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy for years, only recently has bHRT exploded prominently into public awareness. Bioidentical Hormones Explained

Bioidentical hormones are hormones that have been created to be indistinguishable from those made by our own bodies. Thus our bodies respond to them exactly as they would if the hormone had been released by our own endocrine system.

Why aren't all hormones made this way? The answer, in short, is profit. A treatment must be profitable — typically, patentable — to reach most doctor’s offices. Bioidentical hormones, being created by nature, not man, cannot be patented. Their low profitability means that relatively few doctors offer them.
