“Even though I'm seventy, I had remained more active than almost all of my friends. Then suddenly everything went wrong. Within six months I felt like I had aged thirty years. I could barely walk the dog around the block. I could feel the bones rubbing in my feet and was scared I was about to wind up in a wheelchair.
“What's funny is that five years earlier I had heard about bioidentical hormones and had spoken to my regular doctor about them and he had told me ‘no way.’ So I dropped it.
“But having gotten so much worse, when another doctor referred me to Dan I felt I had nothing to lose.
“Dan spent a tremendous amount of time with me explaining things. He is very understanding and does not limit your time. And their physician was wonderful. They did more tests on me than I had ever had done before. But it was worth it. Within a few days of starting the hormones I could feel I was losing weight and beginning to get better. But it probably took four months to get the full benefit. But even though it took a while, I don't think I would ever have lost the weight without the program. Before, I was just gaining, not losing.
“It's funny how you get used to the effects. They happen slowly so you take them in stride. But about a year after starting I went to a Christmas party where I saw many old friends my age (most in their seventies.) They freaked out at how good I looked. I'm not exaggerating to say that some jaws dropped. They were trying to hide it but they were almost upset. It was like I had been growing younger while they got older. That really brought home the benefit I had gotten. I don't know if I had really realized it until then.
“On a scale from one to ten, I would rate my experience a nine. I would give it a ten, but my tests showed that I am deficient in growth hormone. HGH is very expensive. Most of the bioidentical hormones are actually cheap as they are not owned by any drug company. So anyone could afford them. But if you need HGH, it's expensive. And HGH was not covered by my insurance at all. So I have limited that part of my therapy somewhat, and I feel that has partially reduced my results. So, nine out of ten.
“If you are not low on HGH or have better insurance (or deeper pockets) that would not be a problem.
Thank you.
