The Power of Digital Facial Diagnosis

What’s so powerful about the Janus-II system, is that it can determine your skin’s condition both topically and below the surface. The imaging system’s multi-spectral imaging and analysis provides our qualified skincare professionals with a clear, multi-dimensional portrait of the aspects of your complexion which contribute to your overall appearance. We then use this information to guide the creation of a personalized skin treatment program, designed to give you the best results possible.

Uncovering the Truth Using Janus-II

To paint a clear picture of your skin, and to assist in evaluating the likely benefit of treatment, we use a Janus-II imaging session during some of our initial consultations. The Janus-II uses multi-spectral imaging and analysis to capture key visual information in the 6 areas that affect the health and appearance of your complexion:

  1.  Wrinkles
  2.  Spots
  3.  Pores
  4.  Evenness (color variation in the skin tone)
  5.  Porphyrins (evidence of bacteria in pores)
  6.  UV spots (characteristic of photo-damage, typically from overexposure to sun)
  7.  ‍

Using this information, a BHRC skincare professional can assess your skin condition, and recommend optimal treatments and regimens which are right for you.

How The Janus-II Works

The Janus-II uses a 14 megapixel Canon camera to take pictures of your face under three lighting conditions:

  1.  Normal: The surface appearance of your skin texture, pore and wrinkles
  2.  Polarized: Used to capture pigmentation and acne
  3.  Ultraviolet (UV): For measuring sebum, porphyrin, pigmentation and keratin
  4.  ‍

These images are then analysed by software to compare certain aspects of your skin against a database of thousands of people for differences in the condition of your pores, wrinkles, skin tone, UV damage, pigmentation and sebum/porphyrins. One of our skincare specialists is able to precisely measure the keratin, pore structure, wrinkles, freckles and sebum in your skin.
