About HydraFacials
A Hydrafacial is like a facial, but better! It's a 30-minute facial procedure that exfoliates dead skin cells, removes them, then fills your pores with serums containing naturally occurring proteins, peptides, and acids using a unique Vortex-Fusion® delivery system.
It's this multi-step treatment that sets HydraFacial apart from the rest. It cleanses, evenly exfoliates, and extracts impurities and dead skin cells while at the same time replenishing vital nutrients, including Antioxidants, Peptides, and Hyaluronic Acid. Here's what a typical procedure looks like:
- A device that looks like an electric toothbrush is used to open up your pores.
- Next comes a salicylic acid peel to de-clog your pores. This peel is much more gentle than a traditional chemical peel.
- Then a vortex-extraction nozzle sucks the dirt and oil out of your pores, which looks and sounds like a vacuum.
- Finally, the vortex infusion tool fills the empty pores with revitalizing serums.

Hydrafacial FAQ’s
Are there any side effects of a HydraFacial?
The best part of HydraFacial MD® is the lack of post-session side effects. Some people experience redness and skin tightness for about an hour after the procedure, but those cases are rare. You can resume your regular skin routine immediately after you leave the medspa. Put on makeup without fear of irritation.
What should I expect during and after my HydraFacial?
Before the treatment begins, the med spa professional tests your skin to see which blend of serums will yield the best results. The process itself is pleasant. People prefer Hydradermabrasion over traditional dermabrasion primarily because of how it feels.
There is no pinching and pulling. The vortex-extraction nozzle has a low suction that is more pleasant than painful. Many say it feels like a light massage. The serums cause a momentary tingle as they settle in your pores, but even those with sensitive skin report no burning.

Is a HydraFacial better than a regular facial?
HydraFacial rules over regular facials with better results. However, the effects of this treatment typically last for 5-7 days and not 2 or 3 as other treatments would after their application.
Who should not use Hydrafacial?
The HydraFacial is appropriate for all skin tones, according to the company. But you should avoid a HydraFacial if you have an active rash, sunburn, or rosacea. Pregnant women should also skip it. Some ingredients used during the HydraFacial, such as salicylic acid, haven't been tested and proven safe during pregnancy.
What should I tell my doctor before getting a HydraFacial?
HydraFacial is a versatile treatment that can be customized to address various concerns, from dull skin to fine lines and wrinkles. Before you book your appointment, you must have a consultation with your doctor to discuss your goals for the treatment. During the consultation, your doctor will assess your skin type and condition and develop a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. They will also tell you what to expect during and after the procedure. Once you clearly understand the treatment, you can book your appointment and enjoy the benefits of HydraFacial.
What should I do before my HydraFacial?
- One Day After Treatment
- For the first 24 hours after your treatment, avoid heat. Take a lukewarm shower or bath rather than a steaming hot one. Refrain from performing intense cardio or going for a personal best deadlifting. It would be best if you also refrain from unwinding in a sauna. Finally, do not apply makeup on the day of your treatment.
- Two Days After Treatment
- During the first 48 hours after your treatment session, you should still avoid using any product containing tretinoin. You must also refrain from any exfoliating treatment, waxing, and using depilatories during this period. Finally, do not use over-the-counter acne medications for the first two days after treatment.
- Three Days After Treatment
- For the first three to five days after your HydraFacial, you must protect your skin from sun damage. This treatment gently removes the top layers of dead skin cells. This exposes a layer of fresh, healthy skin cells that are more vulnerable than the older skin you've had removed.
- During your initial consultation, we will evaluate your skin tone based on the Fitzpatrick scale to determine what level of protection you will need after treatment. Limit the time your face is exposed to the sun between 10 AM and 2 PM hours, and avoid tanning beds for the first 72 hours after treatment.
What should I do after my Hydrafacial?
- Your Hydrafacial Treatment is designed to leave your skin feeling refreshed and radiant. To maintain these results, it is essential to avoid excessive sun exposure and to wear daily sunscreen of SPF 30 or greater. It would be best to refrain from waxing, exfoliating treatments, or using acne medication for at least 48 hours after treatment. Additionally, no chemical peels or laser skin treatments should be done for two weeks following your Hydrafacial Treatment. Finally, avoid hot tubs, saunas, or showers for 24 hours after treatment. By following these simple steps, you can help ensure that your skin looks its best.
