Belotero FAQ’s
Is Belotero better than Restylane?
The difference between Belotero and Restylane is that it has been perfected to reduce fine lines. Many experts believe Belotero is better because it is easier to layer, making it a great option as a top layer filler that can be used on top of deep layer fillers.
Does Belotero stimulate collagen?
Belotero is an FDA-approved injectable form of collagen that helps stimulate the body's natural production. Belotero has been clinically shown to increase volume up to 6% after just one treatment session. It also boosts your own skin cells' ability to produce new collagen fibers for longer-lasting results with fewer treatments overall.
Is Belotero good for under eyes?
Yes, we often recommend Belotero for the delicate area around the eye. It is well suited as an under-eye filler because it's made of hyaluronic acid, which is less likely to cause allergic reactions than other substances used in injections like collagen.
Who should not use BELOTERO BALANCE®?
BELOTERO BALANCE should not be used in patients with a history of or presence of multiple or severe allergies, including those with a history of anaphylaxis. BELOTERO BALANCE should not be used in patients with allergies to gram-positive bacterial proteins. [Reference - https://www.belotero.com/safe-effective/]

What should I do before my Belotero treatment?
- DO NOT consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising)

Medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo Biloba, ginseng, St. John's Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve, and other NSAIDS have a blood-thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections.
- Schedule your Belotero appointment at least two weeks before a special event you may be attending, such as a wedding or a vacation. Bruising and swelling may be apparent in that time period.
- Discontinue Retin-A 2 days before and two days after treatment. Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you have a rash, cold sore, or blemish in the area.
- Be sure to have a good breakfast, including food and drink, before your procedure. This will decrease the chances of lightheadedness during your treatment.
- You are not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

- Avoid significant movement or massage of the treated area. Unless instructed by the provider.
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
- Avoid extensive sun or heat for 72 hours.
- Avoid consuming excess amounts of alcohol or salts to avoid excess swelling.
- If you have swelling, you may apply a cool compress for 15 minutes each hour.
