About Radiesse and Radiesse Plus
RADIESSE® and RADIESSE® (+) are dermal fillers used to smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. The unique formulation of RADIESSE® volumizing filler includes calcium-based microspheres that provide structure and stimulate the production of your natural collagen. This action continues for several months, giving long-lasting results.
RADIESSE® is the first FDA-approved dermal filler to correct smile lines, marionette lines, and other wrinkles around the nose and mouth for up to 2 years with optimal treatment. RADIESSE® dermal filler can also be used to volumize the face's cheeks, chin, and other areas that have lost volume due to aging.
RADIESSE® (+) is an opalescent injectable gel that contains 0.3% lidocaine, a common anesthetic, for patient comfort during injection. After treatment with RADIESSE®, patients can expect an immediate improvement in the appearance of wrinkles, followed by a continued increase in skin elasticity and Collagen production, resulting in long-term correction.
If you are looking for a safe, effective way to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and create long-lasting results, RADIESSE® may be the right option for you. Talk to your doctor about whether RADIESSE® dermal filler is suitable for you.
Conditions RADIESSE® Can Be Used to Treat
- Smile Lines - Deep smile lines, called nasolabial folds can give your face a tired and aged expression.
- Corners of the Mouth - Lines called oral commissures give the mouth a downturned appearance, which can make you look tired, angry, or sad.
- Marionette Lines - Lines under your mouth can make you look like you’re scowling, even when you’re not.
- Pre-jowl Folds - The areas on either side of the chin can look hollow as volume loss causes the skin to sag along your jawline and create folds.
- Chin Wrinkles - The lines across your chin can distract from your smile and make you look older.

Radiesse FAQ’s
Is Radiesse better than Juvederm?
When it comes to treating deeper lines and folds, Radiesse is your go-to treatment. This super thick dermal filler will correct any problem areas with ease while also making skin appear more youthful thanks in part from its ability temporarily paralyze facial muscles so they're not repairing themselves!
The best part? You can get either procedure done quickly through small incisions at one time which means better results sooner - who doesn't want those?
Which is better Sculptra or Radiesse?
Sculptra lasts longer, with results sustaining for up to 24 months. The results of Radiesse typically last for up to 1 year. The results of both fillers can be sustained by undergoing periodic maintenance treatments.
What is the difference between Radiesse and Restylane?
When it comes to looking your best, you can't go wrong with either option. Radiesse thins out the skin and fills in any gaps while giving off a natural glow that will have people asking "what are you doing?" Restylane does just what its name suggests-it expands into all corners of an area frighteningly accurately without being too heavy or obvious!
Is Radiesse more expensive than Restylane?
Both treatments are usually billed per syringe. Costs depend on the number of syringes used and areas you want treated. Radiesse tends to cost between $650 and $800 per syringe, while Restylane tends to cost between $350 and $800 per syringe.
Who should not use Radiesse?
You should not use RADIESSE® or RADIESSE® (+) if you have an allergy to any component of the product, if you have a history of severe allergies, if you have a bleeding disorder, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. You should not use RADIESSE® (+) if you have an allergy to lidocaine or medicines like it.

What should I tell my doctor before getting Radiesse?
Tell your health care provider if you are taking blood thinners or medicines that can interfere with the clotting of blood, such as aspirin or warfarin. These medicines might make it more likely that you will experience bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Tell your health care provider if you have any diseases, injuries or disabilities of the hand, if you have a history forming large, raised scars or if you have had any other skin treatments such as skin peels.

What should I do before my Radiesse treatment?
- DO NOT consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising)
- Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood-thinning medications, if possible, for a period of 2 weeks before treatment. Medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo Biloba, ginseng, St. John's Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve, and other NSAIDS have a blood-thinning effect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections.
- Schedule your Radiesse appointment at least two weeks prior to a special event you may be attending, such as a wedding or a vacation. Bruising and swelling may be apparent in that time period.
- Discontinue Retin-A 2 days before and two days after treatment. Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you have a rash, cold sore, or blemish on the area.
- Be sure to have a good breakfast, including food and drink, before your procedure. This will decrease the chances of lightheadedness during your treatment.
- You are not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
What should I do after my Radiesse treatment?
- Avoid significant movement or massage of the treated area. Unless instructed by the provider.
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
- Avoid extensive sun or heat for 72 hours.
- Avoid consuming excess amounts of alcohol or salts to avoid excess swelling.
- If you have swelling, you may apply a cool compress for 15 minutes each hour.
- Use Tylenol for discomfort.
- Try to sleep face up and slightly elevated if you experience swelling.
- Take Arnica to help the bruising and swelling; start at least two days prior to injections.
