How soon will I see results from a Cosmelan Peel?
In most cases, we have achieved excellent results using Cosmelan within the first week after starting treatment, when skin blemishes start to disappear. The most significant influence on results is the color of your skin – the darker the skin, the longer it takes for the spots to disappear. But regardless of your skin tone, your skin will regain its youthful, shiny, and healthy appearance in about 2 to 3 weeks.
Is Cosmelan painful?
Cosmelan peels are a safe and effective alternative to traditional skin-lightening treatments. It can be used all year round and has minimal discomfort for most patients who do not require anesthetic medication or local anesthesia during treatment sessions of about 15 minutes each session (depending on the size/extent), reducing dark spots and other unwanted pigmentation factors like Melasma!
What are the side effects of Cosmelan peel?
- Mild to moderate redness and discomfort.
- Tightness and itchiness.
- Skin to feel tight or itch.
- Scarring in rare cases… you mustn't pick at your face.
- The Cosmelan Depigmentation Peel should not be applied while you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Also, if you have active rosacea or have been on Roaccutane in the last six months, you should postpone the treatment to a later date.
What is the difference between Cosmelan and Dermamelan?
Cosmelan is a gentler option than Dermamelan, used for lighter pigmentation or a general rejuvenating effect. However, if you're looking for something that'll heal your skin and eliminate dark spots - Cosmelan does precisely what it needs!
Who should not use Cosmelan?
If you have any of the following conditions, then it is recommended that you do not use Cosmelan peel: if currently pregnant or planning on becoming so in the near future; breastfeeding because formula might be more suitable for them; allergic to one its components such as propolis extract which can cause anaphylactic shock (a rare occurrence).
A note about skin infections - we recommend avoiding our products until healing occurs since using medicinal plants may worsen these symptoms. Patients taking antibiotics should also wait before applying this solution due to their potential effect on bacterial strength.
What should I do before my Cosmelan treatment?
Before Your Initial Treatment
The most important thing to remember before your first Cosmelan treatment is that it is imperative to avoid any salon treatments for at least one week before your first appointment. In addition, utmost care must be taken to protect your skin from sun exposure in the week following your work. While sun exposure must also be limited immediately following your treatment, it is equally important to be sun smart before the Cosmelan treatment begins.
Your First Cosmelan Treatment
Your first experience with Cosmelan facial peels will occur at your choice of one of our professional BHRC medical spas. Your skin type will be thoroughly evaluated before your skin is cleansed to remove oil and dead skin cells.
Then comes the exciting part: when the Cosmelan 1 mask is applied, which will be left on for 6 to 10 hours, depending on your skin type. But don't worry: no matter how luxurious our medical spa centers are, we don't expect you to wait around for the entire 6 to 10 hours. You're free to go home, provided you exercise extreme caution to avoid sun exposure while wearing the mask.
After the required time has passed, the Cosmelan 1 mask can be washed off with water.
Continuing Your Treatment with the Cosmelan 2 Maintenance Cream
In this stage, the Cosmelan 2 maintenance cream is applied two or three times per day for two weeks following the initial mask. After this period, the maintenance cream can be used daily on an ongoing basis for optimal results.
What can I expect from my Cosmelan peel treatment?
The Cosmelan peel is a four-stage treatment procedure. The first step, an intense depigmentation treatment, is performed at a BHRC clinic, and the other steps can be done at home. In our clinic, one of our skin care professionals will clean your face and gently apply the mask to it. We will provide you with an after-treatment kit and instruct you on how to remove the peel at home when it is time. It would be best if you used a gentle cleanser and plenty of water to remove the mask and apply any cream our specialist has suggested. You must use the cream twice a day for at least two weeks.
What should I do after my Cosmelan treatment?
- Always avoid sun exposure as much as possible.
- Do NOT get another treatment or procedure (including peels, facials, or microdermabrasion)on the treated area for 30 days.
- While maintaining Cosmelan 2, discontinue its use for five days before waxing and do not restart treatment until three days after waxing. Threading can usually be done.
