About Jeuveau
Jeuveau® is a prescription drug that can be injected into the muscles of adults to temporarily freeze the nerves and improve their appearance. These neurotoxins paralyze muscle tissue, which smooths out wrinkles for a more youthful look. Jeuveau® is most commonly used to treat crow's feet, forehead wrinkles, and bunny lines. Injections typically take less than fifteen minutes, and the results can last four to six months. Jeuveau® is FDA-approved and has a very low risk of severe side effects. Patients typically return for follow-up injections every few months to maintain optimal results. For those looking for a safe and effective way to reduce the signs of aging, Jeuveau® may be an ideal option.
Conditions Jeuveau Treats
If you're looking for a way to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, you may want to consider Jeuveau. Often called "the new Botox," Jeuveau is a cosmetic injectable that works by temporarily relaxing your facial muscles. This can cause a wrinkle to lessen or disappear altogether. Jeuveau is made from botulinum toxin type A, which is a similar compound to what's used in Botox. However, Jeuveau is said to be more purified and may last longer. While results from Jeuveau injections typically last about three to four months, some people report seeing results for up to six months. Jeuveau works to relax your facial muscles, which can cause a wrinkle to lessen or disappear altogether! It is commonly used for:
- Frown lines
- Crows Feet
- Bunny Lines
- Smoker's Lines
- Marionette Lines and Mouth Corners
- Neck Bands or Cords
- Sagging Eyebrows

Jeuveau FAQ’s
Is Jeuveau better than Botox?
Though clinical trials have shown that their safety profile is similar, it's unclear if either product has any real advantages over the other when it comes to treatment success rates or cost-effectiveness.
Does Jeuveau last longer than Botox?
Botox and Jeuveau can be used to treat expression lines and both last 3-6 months, but Jeuveau takes a few days for results and Botox takes up to 14 days.
Is Jeuveau the same as Botox?
Jeuveau and BOTOX® are both effective treatments for dynamic wrinkles, but they work differently. Jeuveau is made in South Korea with a slightly different form of botulinum toxin than the one used to make BOTOX®, which comes from Ireland.
How long does it take for Jeuveau to kick in?
One major advantage Jeuveau offers over other neuromodulator injections is how quickly it starts working on patients' faces: typically 2-3 days post-procedure versus 7-10 days wait times seen with rival injectables like Botox.
Who should not use Jeuveau®?
Do not use JEUVEAU® if you: are allergic to any of the ingredients in JEUVEAU® (see Medication Guide for ingredients); had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product such as rimabotulinumtoxinB (MYOBLOC®), onabotulinumtoxinA (BOTOX®/BOTOX® Cosmetic), abobotulinumtoxinA (DYSPORT®), or incobotulinumtoxinA (XEOMIN®); have a skin infection at the planned injection site; or are a child.
JEUVEAU® dosing units are not the same as, or comparable to, any other botulinum.

What should I tell my doctor before injections with Jeuveau®?
Tell your healthcare provider about all your muscle or nerve conditions, such as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease, Myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome, as you may be at increased risk of serious side effects including difficulty swallowing and difficulty breathing from typical doses of JEUVEAU®.
Tell your healthcare provider about all your medical conditions, including: any side effects from botulinum toxin products, including dry eye; breathing, swallowing, bleeding, or heart problems; plans to have surgery; weakness of forehead muscles; drooping eyelids; have had surgery on your face; are pregnant or breastfeeding or plan to become pregnant or breastfeed (it is not known if JEUVEAU® can harm your unborn baby or passes into breast milk).
Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Using JEUVEAU® with certain other medicines may cause serious side effects. Do not start any new medicines until you have told your healthcare provider that you have received JEUVEAU® in the past.
Especially tell your healthcare provider if you: have received any other botulinum toxin product in the past and the last 4 months, and exactly which product you received (such as BOTOX, BOTOX Cosmetic, MYOBLOC, DYSPORT, or XEOMIN).

What should I do before my Jeuveau treatment?
To help prevent the risk of excessive bruising following Botox injections, please avoid the following at least 3-5 days before treatment; Avoid NSAIDs, blood thinning vitamins, and alcohol can prevent hematomas or contusions as well as speed healing time. However, if you are taking anticoagulant therapy prescribed by your MD for any medical conditions, please continue. FYI- Many medications and vitamins are considered blood thinning.
What should I do after my Jeuveau treatment?
After you receive yourJeuveau treatment, these guidelines may help you recover quickly:
- Bruising: This may last a couple of days to weeks. Arnika Forte contains bromelain, which helps decrease the duration of bruising time and severity.
- Do not lie down for 3-4 hours following treatment.
- Keep your head in a neutral position for the rest of the day without bending the head forward or down. By following these precautionary measures, you will minimize the occurrence of ptosis (droopy eyelids) and less than optimal outcomes.
- Facial exercises (squint/frown/smile) are recommended in the treated area for one hour after injection.
- Avoid manipulation of the treated area for the rest of the day, such as using a Clarisonic brush, scrubbing, rubbing, or pressing the treated areas.
- No exercise for 24-48 hours following treatment. Anything that causes heat or increases blood pressure will likely metabolize the product faster: i.e., hot yoga, pilates, saunas, steam rooms, infrared sauna, high impact exercise, hyperhidrosis, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, stress, etc.
