        In short

Sofwave is a non-invasive skin tightening treatment made by Sofwave Medical. It sends parallel beams of ultrasound into the mid-dermis, about 1.5 mm below the surface, while built-in cooling protects the top layer of skin. The heat prompts new collagen, so skin firms gradually over about 12 weeks. It is FDA-cleared to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, lift the eyebrow and lift lax tissue under the chin and on the neck. Most treatments take 30 to 45 minutes, most people need one, and there is no downtime. At Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center, Sofwave is offered at our Henderson, Nevada clinic, where a full face is $2,700 and a full face and neck is $3,750.

What Sofwave is, and what it is cleared for

Sofwave is an ultrasound device, not a laser and not an injectable. Its handpiece delivers what the manufacturer calls SUPERB technology, short for Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam: several beams fired at once, heating a thin band of the mid-dermis at about 1.5 mm deep. That is the layer where collagen and elastin are made. An integrated cooling system, Sofcool, monitors and protects the surface, which is why the skin looks the same when you leave as when you arrived.

Sofwave holds FDA 510(k) clearance. The clearance we reviewed (K250146, April 2025) covers reducing fine lines and wrinkles, lifting the eyebrow, lifting lax tissue under the chin and on the neck, short-term improvement in the appearance of cellulite, acne scars, and improving the appearance of skin laxity on the upper arms. Sofwave also states it is cleared for all skin types.

What it does not do matters as much. Sofwave does not remove skin, it does not replace a facelift, and it does not melt fat: by design it stays above the fat layer. It suits mild to moderate laxity and fine lines. If your neck or jowls have dropped a lot, a surgical opinion will get you further, and your provider should say so.

Most facial areas need one treatment; upper arms were studied with two treatments 4 to 6 weeks apart, which is why body areas also come as a two-treatment package. Cost

What drives the cost of Sofwave

Cost questions are most of what people search about Sofwave. Here are the honest answers.

        Why prices vary by area

Sofwave is priced by how much skin is treated. At BHRC Henderson the brow and eyes are $937.50, the lower face or the neck is $1,750, a full face is $2,700 and a full face and neck is $3,750. Combining areas costs less than booking them separately.

        Are there hidden costs?

The price is per treatment and the consultation comes first, so you know the number before anything is booked. Most people need one treatment. The things that change a total are adding areas, choosing a two-treatment body package, or booking a maintenance treatment later.

Why Sofwave costs what it does

You are paying for one treatment that does the work of a series: no needles, no recovery days and a result that Sofwave says can last a year or more. Compare it per year of result, not per visit, against options that need several sessions.

        Is Sofwave worth it?

It is worth it if you want a subtle, natural lift with no downtime and your laxity is mild to moderate. It is less worth it if you want a dramatic change or have significant sagging, where surgery or a different device may serve you better. A good consultation should tell you which group you are in.

        Sofwave vs Ultherapy cost

At BHRC Henderson a full-face Sofwave treatment is $2,700. Ultherapy at our other clinics is priced from about $3,500 to $3,600 for the face; see the Ultherapy page for each clinic's prices. Both are usually a single treatment.

        Financing and rewards

Financing options are on our financing page. Sofwave Medical describes a US loyalty program, myWave, that rewards patients treated at participating practices; ask BHRC Henderson whether it applies to your treatment. Beauty Bank member pricing is BHRC Henderson's own membership.

        Safety

Sofwave side effects and who should ask first

        What you may notice

Sofwave says some people have mild redness or swelling that usually settles within a few hours. You can go back to normal activities straight away.

        Does it hurt?

Most people feel warmth with each pulse. A numbing cream applied beforehand and the built-in cooling keep it comfortable for most people.

        Skin types

Sofwave states it is FDA-cleared for all skin types, because the heat is delivered below the surface while the top layer is cooled.

        Tell your provider about

Pregnancy, implants or metal in the treatment area, active skin infection or open wounds, recent filler or other procedures in the same area, and any condition that affects healing. These are reasons to talk first, and your provider decides whether and when to treat.

        Treatment areas

        Where Sofwave is used

        How it works

        How Sofwave works

Heat in one thin layer of skin, then your own collagen does the rest.

Your provider cleans the skin, may apply a numbing cream, and maps the areas to treat. There is no imaging step and nothing is injected.

The handpiece delivers parallel ultrasound beams to the mid-dermis at about 1.5 mm, heating that layer while the Sofcool system cools and monitors the surface.

The heated layer responds by building new collagen and elastin over the following weeks. Some people see a change within about a week, and the result builds for about 12 weeks.

A provider comparing skin tightening options
        Sofwave

Starts working: Some change in a week; builds over 12 weeks. Lasts: Up to a year or more (Sofwave). Parallel ultrasound at one depth, about 1.5 mm, with surface cooling. Usually one treatment, no downtime. Full face $2,700 at Henderson.

        Ultherapy

Starts working: Builds over 2 to 3 months. Lasts: A year or more (Merz). Micro-focused ultrasound with real-time imaging at several depths (1.5, 3.0 and 4.5 mm). Usually one treatment. Face from about $3,500 at our other clinics.

        Morpheus8

Starts working: Builds over the weeks after each session. Lasts: Planned at consultation. Radiofrequency through microneedles, which also improves texture and acne scars. Usually a short series, a day or two of pinkness. Face $1,200 per session at Henderson.

        Forma

Starts working: Gradual, over a series. Lasts: Planned at consultation. Radiofrequency heating on the surface, the gentlest of the four. Done as a series. From $300 per area at Henderson.

A provider treating the lower face with an energy-based device
        Fine lines and wrinkles

Cleared use. Lines soften as new collagen forms over about three months. Deep folds at rest usually need filler or a collagen stimulator as well.

        Brow

Cleared use. A modest lift for a heavy or low brow, often combined with the upper face.

        Under the chin and neck

Cleared use. Firms lax tissue under the chin and on the neck. If there is also fat under the chin, Sofwave will not remove it.

        Upper arms

Cleared for improving the appearance of skin laxity. Studied with two treatments 4 to 6 weeks apart, which is how the body packages are priced.

        Cellulite and acne scars

Cleared for short-term improvement in the appearance of cellulite, and for acne scars. For deeper scarring, Morpheus8 or CO2 may be discussed as well.

        Chest

BHRC Henderson lists the chest. It is not named in the clearance we reviewed, so ask your provider what result to expect there.

        Is it for you

        Who Sofwave suits

Sofwave tightens skin that has started to soften. It is not a facelift and it does not remove fat or skin.

Sofwave may suit you if you

        • Have mild to moderate laxity on the brow, jawline or neck
        • Have fine lines and want firmer skin overall
        • Want no downtime and no needles
        • Prefer one treatment to a series
        • Want a gradual result that looks like you, rested

        Raise these at consultation

        • Significant sagging, heavy jowls or a lot of loose neck skin
        • Fat under the chin, which tightening alone will not remove
        • Pregnancy
        • Implants or metal in the treatment area
        • An active skin infection or open wound in the area

These are things to discuss, not automatic disqualifications. Your provider decides whether Sofwave, another device or a surgical referral is the honest answer.

        Frequently asked

        Sofwave questions, answered

        How much does Sofwave cost?

At BHRC Henderson, Sofwave is $937.50 for the brow and eyes, $1,750 for the lower face or neck, $2,700 for a full face and $3,750 for a full face and neck. Beauty Bank members pay member prices, except when the treatment is performed by the PA. See the full price list.

        What is Sofwave?

Sofwave is a non-invasive ultrasound skin tightening device by Sofwave Medical. It heats the mid-dermis at about 1.5 mm while cooling the surface, which prompts new collagen. It is FDA-cleared for fine lines and wrinkles, brow lift, and lax tissue under the chin and on the neck.

How much does Sofwave cost for the face and neck?

A full face and neck is $3,750 at BHRC Henderson, and a lower face and neck is $3,000. Combining the face and neck costs less than booking them separately.

        Why is Sofwave so expensive?

It is one treatment that usually replaces a series, with no recovery time and a result that Sofwave says can last a year or more. Compared per year of result, it often lands close to treatments that need several visits.

Are there hidden costs with Sofwave?

No. You get the price at consultation before anything is booked, and most people need one treatment. Totals change only if you add areas, choose a two-treatment body package or book maintenance later.

        Does Sofwave work?

For mild to moderate laxity and fine lines, it is designed to tighten and firm gradually as collagen forms. It is not a facelift. If you have significant sagging, your provider should tell you that surgery or another option may serve you better.

        How long does Sofwave last?

Sofwave says results can last up to a year or more after one treatment. Many people book a maintenance treatment about once a year.

How many Sofwave treatments do I need?

Most people need one. Upper arms were studied with two treatments 4 to 6 weeks apart.

When will I see Sofwave results?

Some people see a change within about a week, and results keep building for about 12 weeks.

        Does Sofwave melt fat?

No. Sofwave says it does not cause fat loss and is designed to avoid the fat layer beneath the skin. If you want to reduce fat under the chin, ask about Kybella or CoolSculpting.

        Does Sofwave hurt?

Most people feel warm pulses. A topical numbing cream beforehand and the built-in cooling keep it comfortable for most people.

Sofwave vs Ultherapy: what is the difference?

Both use ultrasound. Sofwave treats one depth, about 1.5 mm, with parallel beams and surface cooling. Ultherapy uses imaging and treats at several depths, up to 4.5 mm. Read the full Sofwave vs Ultherapy comparison.

Sofwave vs Morpheus8: which is better?

They do different jobs. Sofwave is a single no-downtime treatment for tightening. Morpheus8 uses radiofrequency microneedling, needs a short series and also improves texture and acne scars. Some people combine them, weeks apart.

Where can I get Sofwave at BHRC?

At BHRC Henderson, 120 S Green Valley Pkwy, Suite 174, Henderson, NV 89012, (702) 620-3388. Our other clinics offer Ultherapy and Morpheus8 for skin tightening.

Is there a Sofwave rewards program?
