Filler adds volume — it physically builds the lip. A lip flip uses a few units of wrinkle relaxer to relax the muscle above your upper lip so it rolls slightly outward, showing more of the pink lip you already have. A flip adds show; filler adds size. Together they read fuller and more natural than either one alone.
Not the way we do it. One syringe placed by an injector who maps your anatomy first is a subtle change — most patients hear “you look rested,” not “you got your lips done.” We would rather have you come back for a second syringe than overfill you on day one.
Topical numbing goes on 20–30 minutes before treatment, and the fillers we use contain lidocaine. Most patients describe pressure rather than pain. The whole appointment takes about 30 minutes.
Lip filler typically lasts 9–12 months, though lips metabolize filler faster than other areas because they move constantly. A lip flip lasts about 3–4 months.
Expect swelling for 24–72 hours and the possibility of small bruises. Most patients are comfortable in public the next day and fully settled at two weeks — which is when we like to see you back for a look.
