CoolSculpting Elite in Summerlin — Cost, Real Results and Who It’s Actually For
CoolSculpting Elite · Summerlin & Las Vegas
From $800 a cycle, 10–28% of the fat layer in a treated area — and one complication whose published rate is seven times what the manufacturer reports.

1. How cryolipolysis works
Fat cells are lipid-rich; the tissue around them is water-rich. Lipid crystallises and is damaged at temperatures that leave skin, nerve and blood vessel intact. Cryolipolysis exploits that difference: controlled cooling, down to a target of about −15 °C at the applicator, injures adipocytes preferentially.
What follows is an immune process, not a mechanical one. The injury triggers panniculitis and apoptosis, and macrophages clear the dead fat cells over weeks to months. The histology is well described: inflammatory infiltrate at about two weeks, reduced adipocyte volume with subsiding inflammation at four weeks, thickened interlobular septa and resolved inflammation at two to three months.
2. What it is cleared for — and what that language means
The device category began with a De Novo classification, DEN090002, granted in August 2010, which created the classification for dermal cooling devices. At least fifteen further 510(k) clearances followed. CoolSculpting Elite was cleared as K212707 in November 2021, with a further Elite clearance in September 2024.
The cleared areas for Elite are specific: upper arm, bra fat, back fat, banana roll, thigh, abdomen and flank in patients with a BMI of 30 or under, and the submental and submandibular areas up to a BMI of 46.2.
3. What the published results actually are
The distinction in that caption is the one people miss. A 20% reduction of the fat layer under one applicator is not a 20% reduction in your body fat, and the scale will generally not move. If your goal is the number on the scale, this is the wrong treatment and our medical weight loss program is the right conversation.
4. Paradoxical adipose hyperplasia — the section most clinics skip
PAH is a delayed complication in which the treated area develops a visibly enlarged, firm, well-demarcated mass of fat conforming to the shape of the applicator — the opposite of the intended result. It appears two to five months after treatment. It does not resolve on its own and is generally corrected only by liposuction or excision.
The published incidence estimates vary by more than an order of magnitude, and the direction of the discrepancy is consistent.
The 2025 systematic review and meta-analysis pooled 28 studies and 13,078 patients, finding 29 PAH cases and a pooled incidence of 0.22% (95% CI 0.10–0.47) — roughly one in 455 patients. Its authors rated the evidence low-certainty and noted something important: only 4 of the 28 studies had follow-up of 16 weeks or more, which is the minimum needed to reliably detect PAH. The pooled figure may therefore still understate it.
The risk factors identified in the 2,114-patient multicentre study are worth knowing because they are specific:
- Male sex — 55% of PAH cases, against 15% of the overall cryolipolysis patient population. A substantial overrepresentation.
- Abdomen — 61.5% of cases.
- Older device generation — 76.9% of cases. Incidence fell from 0.39% per cycle on 2015–2016 units to 0.05% per cycle on 2017–2019 units, a drop of more than 75%. This is genuinely useful and under-reported: PAH risk appears to be device-generation dependent.
5. Who is a good candidate — and who is not
The skin-laxity point deserves expanding. If a bulge is partly held in place by loose skin, removing the fat underneath can make the contour look worse rather than better. In that situation a tightening modality — Ultherapy or Morpheus8 — is the more useful first step, sometimes instead of cryolipolysis and sometimes before it.
6. What it costs at Summerlin
| What you book | Price |
|---|---|
| Single cycle | from $800 |
| Two cycles | from $1,400 |
| Custom multi-area package | from $2,500 |
Rejuvenation Club members save 20% on every treatment plus priority scheduling. Cycles are priced individually because most areas need more than one applicator placement to cover them properly — a full flank is typically two cycles per side, an abdomen often four. Your consultation should tell you the cycle count before it tells you the price.
7. How it compares to the alternatives
Non-surgical fat reduction is a crowded category and the options are not interchangeable. A short, honest map:
Two practical distinctions. First, cryolipolysis and liposuction are not competitors on results — surgery removes far more, immediately, with anaesthesia and real recovery; cryolipolysis removes a fraction, gradually, with none. People choose it for what it avoids as much as for what it does. Second, a GLP-1 and a contouring treatment answer different questions. If there is a meaningful amount of weight to lose, losing it first and contouring afterward produces a better result than doing both at once — and it is cheaper, because you will need fewer cycles.
A treatment that removes a fifth of the fat under one applicator cannot substitute for a treatment that changes your metabolism. Nothing in this category can.
8. Building versus reducing
One thing worth saying to anyone booking body contouring: reducing fat and building muscle are different jobs, and for some people the second one changes the silhouette more. Emsculpt NEO does both simultaneously via electromagnetic muscle stimulation and radiofrequency, and its published abdominal studies report roughly 25–30% fat reduction and a 23–26% increase in treated-muscle thickness at three months — though those studies are small, short and largely manufacturer-associated, and we say so on its own page.
Which is right for you depends on what is actually creating the shape you do not like. A soft, pinchable roll is a cryolipolysis question. A flat but undefined midsection in someone who trains is usually not.

Questions we get asked
How much does CoolSculpting cost in Las Vegas?
At BHRC Summerlin, from $800 per cycle, $1,400 for two cycles and $2,500 for a custom multi-area package. Most areas need more than one cycle, so ask for the cycle count at consultation — that is what determines your total.
How much fat will I actually lose?
Published studies show roughly 10–28% reduction of the fat layer in the treated area. That is a percentage of the pinchable layer under one applicator, not of your body fat. The scale usually does not move, and it is not meant to.
When will I see results?
Changes begin around three to four weeks; the fullest result is at two to three months. Photograph yourself at baseline — the change is gradual enough that memory is unreliable.
What is paradoxical adipose hyperplasia?
A delayed complication where the treated area enlarges instead of reducing, appearing two to five months later, conforming to the applicator shape. It does not resolve on its own and usually requires liposuction to correct. Independent published incidence is about 0.22% — roughly one in 455 patients — which is around seven times the manufacturer’s figure. Men and abdominal treatment are overrepresented.
Does it hurt?
Intense cold and a strong pulling sensation for the first few minutes, then numbness for the rest of the cycle. The uncomfortable part is often afterwards, as sensation returns — tingling, tenderness and occasionally a deep ache for a few days.
Can I have it if I plan to lose weight?
You will get a better result treating after you reach a stable weight. Cryolipolysis reduces the fat layer in a specific area; ongoing weight change alters everything around it and makes the result hard to judge.
